  2. Prairie Fire Theatre: Alladin

    Ages 7-15

    Upon registration your child is automatically accepted into the cast—no acting experience necessary. Auditions for specific parts take place the first day of camp from 1 to 3 p.m. Rehearsal tmes will vary by the part your child gets, so flexibility for pick-up/drop-off times is needed. In general, rehearsal times will fall between 12:30 and 5:15 PM on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. On Friday, rehearsal will begin late afternoon and will last right up to show time. All costumes, music and scenery are provided and are included in the registration fee. Tickets to the performances are $7 and can be purchased at www.LakevilleAreaArtsCenter.com.

    Ages 5-7

    Boys and girls who are interested in improving their skills while having fun playing basketball. Players from the beginning stage to intermediate levels will learn the basic skills, fundamentals and techniques of the game. Work on proper ball handling, shooting and rebounding techniques, defensive footwork and have various shooting and ball handling contests during the week.

    In a fun, energetic atmosphere your child will learn or improve upon stroke production, footwork, strategies of the game and play games using low compression, age-appropriate balls that get them playing quicker. Children will be separated by age and skill level. 6 kids to 1 instructor.

    Brand ew Pre-K curriculum. Youth Enrichment League helps your Pre-K LEGO builder’s imagination soar. Young learners will build multiple airplanes, trucks, boats and even robots. We use those projects to investigate the basics of structural engineering, wheels, axles, teamwork and creative thinking. LEGO Duplo blocks and regular sized LEGO blocks are used in this course.

  5. Skateboard Camp

    Ages 7-12

    Whether you are a beginner or ready to learn more advanced tricks, this camp is perfect for you! Skills/tricks taught include balance, stopping, turning, ollies, nollies, heel flips and kick flips. A skateboard and helmet are mandatory for the camp. Kneepads, elbow pads and wrist guards are highly recommended. Register by July 3.

    Camp provides children an opportunity to learn techniques for indoor rock climbing. Program is perfect for first-time climbers to kids who have climbed before. Camp focuses on harnessing , knot tying, top-rope climbing and bouldering, as well as climbing games. Our instructor will teach climbers the basics of climbing movement and some simple techniques to help improve their abilities. Climbers are divided into appropriate age and skill level groups. Daily snack is provided.

    Weekly drills, skill development and match play for boys and girls who currently play on a school team. We’ll cover all the strokes and work on consistency, shot selection, footwork and speed. You’ll also learn singles and doubles strategies and play games. Great for anyone who wants to get ready for their school tennis season, get better in the off-season and bring their game to the next level.
