    The Lakeville Art Festival is held the third weekend in September in historic downtown Lakeville, on the grounds of the Lakeville Area Arts Center. The park-like grounds allow the unique use of a circular type arrangement of artist booths, providing an intimate and accessible setting. This event includes a featured artist exhibit, artist demonstrations, Youth Art Tent, food vendors, and local talent.

  1. Bird Banding

    For families, youth must be accompanied by an adult

    Join researchers from the North Central Bird Observatory for an up-close and personal look at local and migrant wild birds. In this ongoing research project, the public will observe the capture of birds using mist nets and the collection of data including placing identifying bands on the birds. Birds are then released back into the wild. It’s a great way for families to learn about the science of bird banding. Event will take place rain or shine.

    Sing, Dance, Play, Learn! Award-winning music and movement for babies, toddlers, preschoolers and the grown ups who love them. You’ll experience delightful ways to interact musically with your child, all designed to support his or her music development and overall development. The rich music environment in class, full of opportunities for experimentation and play, will help your child grow into a confident, lifelong music maker! Classes are mixed-age so siblings can attend together. Infant under 8 months on the 1st day of the session are free with a registered sibling. For Fall classes infant must be born after 1/16/17. All infants, whether siblings or not, are welcome.

    Soccer on the grass turf—the kids will love it! This is an introductory program for children to learn soccer basics and have a great time. Each week we will work on skills and play fun, soccer themed games. Soccer ball size 3 or 4 required, shin guards recommended for safety. Tennis shoes or soccer cleats required. Ages 4-7
