The
Downtown Lakeville Business Association (DLBA) special service district is a nonprofit organization that began in 1995. It is supported by a special service district tax, with the goal of preserving and redeveloping historic downtown Lakeville.
Mission Statement
To create a unique "downtown" business environment which blends the cultural historical, and economic opportunities of a rapidly growing community situated in a major metropolitan area.

If you’re interested in opening a business downtown, retail space is available for lease and more information can be found at mncar.org. The City of Lakeville also has approved design guidelines (PDF) for
the redevelopment of existing properties and the construction of new buildings
within the downtown area.
