Dakota County, in partnership with the City of Lakeville, is planning for the reconstruction of County Road 70 from Kensington Boulevard/Kenrick Avenue to Cedar Avenue. Roadway expansion to a four-lane divided highway will address safety concerns and congestion on this critical roadway that provides connections to established industrial parks with significant commercial and freight uses and future high-growth areas. Pedestrian trails will be constructed along the roadway connecting the existing trail networks along Kenrick Avenue and Cedar Avenue. Construction will resume in mid-March 2021, beginning with a traffic switch to the new lanes on the south side of the roadway between Hamburg Avenue and Cedar Avenue.
