Join researchers from the North Central Bird Observatory for an up-close and personal look at local and migrant wild birds. In this ongoing research project, the public will observe the capture of birds using mist nets and the collection of data including placing identifying bands on the birds. Birds are then released back into the wild. It’s a great way for families to learn about the science of bird banding. Event will take place rain or shine.

This class uses age-appropriate hoops (3-7 feet high) and smaller basketballs to teach fundamental skills and age-appropriate rules. Topics include dribbling, shooting, defending, passing and more.
For ages 2-4
RevSports Basketball is a fundamental skills program including focus on ball handling, shooting, passing, rebounding, and defending lay-ups. Small group sizes are used for a more fun and active environment. Class begins with a warm-up, followed by a fun active game, and always ends with an age-appropriate scrimmage. All equipment provided. This class will be offered in a socially distant way for the current COVID-19 environment including limited class size and adjusted activities.
For ages 2-4
This class is offered as T-ball or Coach Pitch, and teaches fundamental skills using age-appropriate game-like activities. Topics include fielding grounders, batting, throwing, catching, base running and more.

Get moving with this discovery-based program. Keep the kids up late and experience Ritter Farm Park after hours! We’ll begin with a campfire and s’mores. Lakeville Environmental Resources staff will teach you to identify the songs and looks of different frog species. A nighttime hike through the woods will let you use your new-found knowledge and all your senses to discover frogs (maybe even spring peepers!), owls, bugs and other creatures of the night. You’ll see night in a whole new light! Don’t forget your flashlight! Families encouraged, youth must be accompanied by an adult.

Are you ready to dribble, scoop and have some fun? Little ones burn off some of that energy and begin learning easy concepts of soccer. We will learn soccer basics and and play fun, soccer-themed games. Parents will learn how to actively engage with their child in soccer long after the class has ended. Tennis shoes or soccer cleats and a soccer ball size 3 required, shin guards recommended.

Refresh or improve your golf fundamentals. Regardless of your skill level, this class will focus on improving your putting, chipping, pitching and full swing. All sessions take place on the practice range, putting green or short game area! Bring your clubs or if clubs are needed, please indicate left- or right-handed. Includes balls, handouts and equipment if needed. Class includes a free 9-hole pass. Class meets on the patio.
