    The City Council meets at 7 p.m. on the first and third Monday of each month at City Hall, 20195 Holyoke Ave. If a holiday occurs on the meeting date, the Council meets on the following evening. Council meetings are televised live on Government Channel 180 and are also available for online viewing after each meeting.

  1. Chess Summer Camp

    Ages 6-11

    Youth Enrichment League’s summer chess camp works with all levels of students. Beginners learn piece movement, capturing, check, checkmate, castling and more; returning students study intermediate lessons such as pins, forks and back bank mates. Advanced students will study elimination of defense, opening theory and other advanced concepts. We will hold an in-class tournament the last day of class.

    Enter the Science Explorers’ time machine and journey back to a world where dinosaurs ruled the earth. Become a paleontologist to learn how enormous or small these amazing creatures were, plus participate in a “mini” dino dig. You will have a dynamite time with hands-on experiments, studying fossils, and much more as we journey back in time.

    You don’t need to have gray hair and wrinkles to be an inventor. Children are natural inventors. Did you know that a child invented the Popsicle or that a 16-year-old invented the trampoline? Join Science Explorers as we explore electricity and pneumatics, plus modify past inventions by Samuel Morse, the Wright Brothers and others. Then become inspired by other kid inventors as you design and build your own inventions using a wide variety of simple materials.
