    Classes are designed for participants who can read and comprehend written materials with minimal assistance. Younger participants with strong reading skills may also register. (Adults may choose to register as participants with children who will need reading assistance.) For a list of classes that require minimal/no reading, please email childrenscastletheater@gmail.com.

    Guideline(s): Participants should register at least 1 week prior to the class date to ensure instructors have enough time to prepare for the final group size.

  2. Spoon Carving

    February 13, 2021, 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM @ Lakeville Area Arts Center


    For ages 18+

    Learn how to carve a wooden cooking spoon from a fresh cut tree using traditional Nordic carving techniques. We will cover tree anatomy and demonstrate how to axe out a blank (roughed out spoon shape), share knife holds for the hook and sloyd knife, and discuss drying and finishing directions. This class is great for beginners. The class fee includes tool rental, materials, a finishing kit and safety gloves. Please wear long pants and closed toe shoes for protection.
